Get Involved

Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry relies heavily on volunteer labor to distribute 1.5+ million pounds of food each year to almost 60,000 people. An average of 671 volunteers/month provided 18,801 hours of volunteer labor to Loaves & Fishes in 2016, the equivalent of nine full time employees.

Loaves & Fishes volunteers sort produce and other donations, stock shelves, help clients choose the foods their families will eat, help in the parking lot, and check in our clients at each of our shifts, and help pack and deliver groceries once a month to clients who are unable to come to us.

Volunteers can serve monthly or weekly, or fill in as needed when other volunteers are away. No prior training is required for most jobs - we can show you what to do!

Because Loaves & Fishes is a working warehouse with heavy equipment, we cannot allow volunteers younger than 8 (children between the ages of 8 and 11 may volunteer with a parent or guardian). Closed toed shoes are required for all volunteer shifts, and we ask all volunteers to sign our Volunteer Waiver of Liability.

To join our efforts in any of these capacities, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Nancy-Lee Kozub at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . We look forward to working with you!
